October 12, 2002 (Season Opener) vs. Grand Rapids Griffins
The Barons won their season opener in Michigan by a score of 6-4. Things were looking bleak for the Barons heading into the 3rd period down by a score of 4-2. But 4 unaswered goals in the third period lead the team to a win. The first goal of the third period came from Wiseman. The second and game tying goal came from Kraft. The third and game winning goal was a short hander from Nelson. The fourth and nail in the coffin goal came from Miroslav Zalesak with 2:33 left in the third period. In one other note Jesse Fibiger was hit in the face by a puck as he exited from the penalty box and was taken off the ice for medical examination. (posted 10/12 10:05p)
